“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
Jeremiah 33:3 NIV
If we’re honest, most of us would choose certainty over mystery every time. We want to know what’s coming — how the year will unfold, what to expect, what to prepare for. The unknown can feel unsettling, and uncertainty often nudges us toward control.
But what if the unanswered questions of life are not obstacles to faith, but invitations?
What if the things we don’t know are meant to draw us closer to the One who does?
God doesn’t scold us for our questions or impatience with the unknown. Instead, He gently invites us: Call to Me. Reach out. Lean in. Stay close. The mystery is not meant to push us away — it’s meant to pull us nearer.
And here’s the hope we carry into 2026: when God invites us to call on Him, it’s because He intends to answer. He listens. He hears our doubts, our fears, our hopes, our prayers whispered and cried. And He responds — not always with a detailed roadmap, but with wisdom, presence, and truth we could never uncover on our own.
As a new year is about to begin, may you feel the quiet peace of knowing that every uncertainty ahead is an opportunity to trust your faithful Savior. May you feel freedom from the pressure to rush, strive, or fill every blank space on your calendar with plans and promises that leave your soul weary.
May you resist the urge to sprint ahead of God — and instead walk with Him, step by step.
You are known by God. You are His beloved child. You are the one He listens to, delights in, and draws near to.
May that truth steady your heart.
May it shape your year.
May it give you rest.
A prayer for the year ahead:
Lord, there is so much before us that we cannot see and so much we wish we could control but cannot. We bring You our questions, our hopes, our fears, and our longings. We want to trust You — even when that feels hard. Help us remember who we are by remembering who You are. Thank You that when we are tethered to You, we are anchored in faith. We step into this new year holding onto You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
