We want to read YOUR story!
Everyone has a story to tell. Through your first-person stories, we want to read how God has moved in your life, what you’ve learned about Him, or what He’s been showing you as you journey through life and faith. If you’re new to (in)courage but want to write a devotion for us, please read some past devotions and our About Us page to get a sense of what our community is about.
You can also tune in to this special episode of the (in)courage podcast for a conversation with our staff! Anna, Becky, and Rachel share their best editorial tips and author expertise while discussing all things writing and editing. This is the perfect prep for submitting a guest devotion! (Listen because we recorded it for YOU!)
Submission Calendar
The submission form opens four times each year. When the form is open, it will be located at the bottom of this page. (Don’t see the form? Check back during one of the periods listed below.) Submissions or queries sent outside of the following timeframes will not be considered. Submit your piece through the 15th at 8 p.m. (CT) for your chance to be featured.
- December 1-15th (for devotions featured January-March)
- March 1-15th (for devotions featured April-June)
- June 1-15th (for devotions featured July-September)
- September 1-15th (for devotions featured October-December)
Submission Guidelines
Your devotion should be story-driven and have a strong takeaway (what you want the reader to reflect on or learn). Your takeaway must be faith-based and grounded in the gospel. We’re looking for devotions from women of all ages, life stages, and cultural backgrounds. Please make sure your devotion centers your story and not someone else’s.
- Submit only ONE devotion per quarter.
- Devotions must be 600-900 words.
- We only accept original articles that haven’t appeared anywhere else, including your blog or social media.
- If a devotion you submitted in a previous quarter was not accepted, we kindly ask that you submit a new piece for consideration.
- Please include the translation for all Scripture references and quotes.
- Please edit your devotion for spelling and grammar errors.
- Use Microsoft Word. (PDF, pages, or other formats will not be accepted)
Promotion Guidelines
We enjoy working with authors and writers of all stages who submit original devotions for our site. However, we do not accept book excerpts or devotions that are promotional in any way. Regarding promotion opportunities for products and published books, please email Joy Groblebe.
- Promotional devotions will not be considered.
- Please do not have someone send submissions on your behalf. This includes clients, ministries, agents, publicists, publishers, and the like.

Submission Process
- Complete our submission form below.
- After meeting all guidelines, email your devotion as a Word document attachment to incourage@dayspring.com. Please be sure to name your Word document as follows: Full Name – Working Title. We ask that you also include your full name and working title inside the Word document (at the top of the page), as this makes it possible for us to locate and review your submission.
- Due to the number of submissions we receive, we are not able to respond to every email immediately upon receipt.
- While we aim to respond to submissions 2-3 weeks after our form closes each quarter, if you do not hear from us within that time, you can assume we will be unable to use your submission.
If you have questions that were not addressed on this page, please email us at incourage@dayspring.com during an open submission period.
Thank you for sharing your story with (in)courage. We look forward to considering your devotion for publication!
