(in)courage was founded in 2009 by DaySpring. Two employees, Holley Gerth and Stephanie Bryant, had a vision to create an online home for the hearts of women. With the support of DaySpring management, (in)courage launched as the first contributor site of its kind, publishing devotions and Jesus-centered stories seven days a week.
In 2015, (in)courage rebranded from “a home for the hearts of women” to a place where you could “find yourself among friends.” From 2010 to 2017, Lisa-Jo Baker served (in)courage as the community manager. Lisa-Jo’s creativity and passion for connecting women helped grow this community and shaped the landscape of (in)courage for seven beautiful years. In January of 2018, Lisa-Jo handed the baton to Becky Keife. Previously the editorial coordinator, Becky is thrilled to serve (in)courage in this capacity and help lead the community into a new season of growing deeper with Jesus and one another and living as women of courage.
DaySpring and (in)courage continue to help Christian women live their faith by connecting them to God’s Word and others through the power of shared stories. We use blog posts, social media, and printed books to communicate God’s love to readers and model Christian friendship as contributors and a broader online community. We’re committed creating biblically true, modernly beautiful, and practically relevant resources to inspire and equip today’s modern Christian woman.
Along with our current writers, we deeply value our past contributors. These women, the ones who helped shape this place and spoke to our souls, remain dear to our hearts. You can continue connecting with (in)courage alumni, as we like to call them, by enjoying their past (in)courage posts and visiting their websites:
