  1. What a beautiful encouragement. It also reminded me about the 3 days that Jesus was buried in the grave, left us thinking He died, not knowing he was battling for us, and walking out of the tomb, alive. Ressurected.
The cave = the grave ❤️

  2. I absolutely love this ! It speaks right to me , my heart and the word is truth .Be still and listen

  3. Dear Simi……..Your words today really made me understand a season that I just went through for 5+ years. I was tired, I was upset and I felt like giving up. I live in a Senior Living Facility where the conditions are less than good for what we are paying for. I was also having very serious personal problems which my heart felt like it was broken, so for weeks I only went down for lunch and then retreated to my apartment in loneliness. My mind was whirling and I kept praying to God for relief and some peace. I know that sometimes God challenges us with some struggles, but I wondered why. Yesterday’s devotion explained that part to me and today you have explained the last part of these situations. Just two weeks ago, I seemed to come out of “Hibernation” and felt much better. I believe that God knew I was in some very serious problems and I needed this rest and prayer time without so many people here asking me what was wrong. I did rest and I did listen and finally I realized that I could not solve these issues myself which had kept me on that treadmill. I asked if I could possibly leave my problems at His feet and He told me ” Yes “. I did and just like that, I stopped worrying and left it to God as only He has the power and knowledge of the plan He has for each of us. I came out of the cave with so much peace, love and gratitude that your wise words explained that to me. Those problems are not on my mind nearly as much, just one that involves my not being able to see or talk to my grandson who will turn 15 on 10/10. This is something my heart just cannot forget. Love to you Simi for your wise words and making me feel so much better. The (in)courage women are like Angels from the Lord to help all of us in whatever we face. Bless you, Simi……………………Betsy Basile

    • Gosh! I resonate with your words so much. This cave message through the life of Elijah was how God healed me a season of burnout- “get off the treadmill” to listen and rest in Him!

  4. Thank you. What a beautiful devotion! I am coming to realize that I am in the Autumn years of my life. In some ways scary, but in other ways excited to see what God has yet to do. It’s a changing season.

    • Yes, this season reminds me that there is glory and beauty even in loss and change …because it isn’t the end of the story.

  5. I’ve been a cave for six years. In the early days, I fought it with everything in me. Yet over time, the Holy Spirit spoke words similar to what you have shared. It is a haven of rest and a season of re-birth. Hallelujah. and thank you for sharing these powerful words of hope!

    • Amen! Love that! On the mountain tops and the caves He is the same God. 6 yrs is a long time but I am glad you are not alone in it, God is with you!

  6. I’m also in my autumn season of life. Autumn is my favorite season of the year, so perhaps it will also be a beautiful season of life. I feel like I’ve been in a cave for a while now due to health issues. Looking forward to emerging to see what God is preparing for me.
    Thanks for this encouragement.

    • I am glad these words resonated and spoke to you! Even in the hidden cave seasons- He is faithful to provide us grace to refresh and renew us with fresh hope and strength to keep going!

  7. Thank you for this. A new perspective that encourages our heart and soul. Grateful for the gift that God has given you to bless us with your writing. Blessings,

  8. So very encouraging. As an elderly woman dealing with all the limitations of my aged body, I often feel unseen. Yet I also enjoy my daily Bible reading and lean constantly on God and his provision. He has never abandoned or forsaken me, no matter the crisis.

  9. Simi,

I, too, love everything fall. For me the cave is a place of rest from the world. A time to reconnect with God. The slow pace & quiet atmosphere allow us to hear God & worship Him. Great devo!!

    Blessings 🙂
