  1. Thank you for this reminder to remember! I often nudge friends to pile up stones of remembrances when they are going through a tough time & they are grateful for the practice but I had forgotten the details that those piled up stones are not just for the piler thereof but for others & future . generations. In God’s economy simple things to us bless beyond ourselves! What an awesome God we have! Blessings (((0)))

  2. Thank you for sharing your story. I’m so sorry for the pain you went through as a child. I love your devotional. I’m thanking God for His amazing faithfulness throughout the years. And believing for Him to do the impossible. May God be glorified! He is so worthy of all praise and glory.

  3. Ligia, thank you so much for this beautiful post. I woke up anxious today and am struggling to get it under control. I will try to focus on all that God has provided. Could you please pray that I find some measure of peace?

    • Dear Cheyla, I am praying peace and comfort to you. May Jesus the Prince of Peace bathe you in His wonderful peace as only He can give!

    • Dear God, thank you for Cheyla. Thank you that she is yours and that you love her. I pray that today she would know peace and comfort through your love, your presence, and your people. I pray you would bring to mind all that she has already overcome and how far you’ve brought her. Remind her of your steadfast love and faithfulness, and may she be filled with your Holy Spirit’s rest as she leans into who you are — a waymaker, miracle worker, and a light in the darkness. Remind her that these aren’t just lyrics of a song but a declaration of who you are. Surround her today, in your mighty name, Jesus. Amen.

  4. As one who suffers seasons of depression and anxiety and a debilitating back condition at age 78, I have heard the Lord’s wonderful and sweet and gentle voice many times, but none so great as 2 years ago when He visited me in my bedroom all night long with His glorious Presence! When I am struggling I remember that night and the remembrance encourages me. God bless you all abundantly abundantly!!!

  5. Ligia, I wonder about the rest of your story. Obviously, you have risen above this beginning. We all.have our own stories, of course, of God’s saving grace. I’m happy your story went on to where you are today! God is good!.

    • Oh Irene, I have so many stories about God’s goodness. Yes, the Lord is truly a redeemer, and I see His kindness every day, just as Psalms 27 describes. One day, I may write a book to tell the whole story. For now, I appreciate you reading and listening to my small pieces of this journey. To God be the glory!

  6. Ligia,

I need to learn from you to be a minimalist. I love to decorate and try to practice restraint. HomeGoods is dangerous for me. That’s said, many of the things that I have in my home are precious reminders of my loved ones!

Sending you end of summer joy, Lisa Wilt

    • Lisa, I hear you! Here in Canada, we don’t have HomeGoods, but we do have Homesense (same idea), and it is dangerous. It’s not that I dislike things or decor, but I also try to remind myself that there is a fine line between want and need. Also, the thought of having to clean everything is a good incentive not to buy more things. Thank you for reading!

Sending you much love from Canada, amiga!
