  1. Simi, your words really touched something deep inside me. I read the Bible; I go to church; I volunteer; I pray, but there is something missing. There is an empty place inside me that I keep trying to fill. I say I am simplifying my life by not focusing on things. I buy what I need. I try to be happy with my circumstances but a part of me, if I am honest, wants more. I think maybe I am not praying enough or praying the right way or using the right words. And times, I can’t pray at all except to recite the Lord’s Prayer because I don’t have to make up the words. I guess I need to really examine my heart to find what I refuse to see.

  2. What s thought provoking devotional. Thank you for sharing. It’s amazing how you gave a natural comparison of paper towel to describe how the unconfessed sins or unresolved issues of life can suck the life right out of us! Thanks for sharing!

    • Love when God speaks to us through ordinary moments this way …almost like parables in the Bible making it relevant and plain for us. What a good Father we have!

  3. Your article struck a chord with me on many levels Simi! Beautifully written.
    Thank you,
    Laura

  4. Simi,

My church sent me that exact verse this morning. God must be trying to tell me something. I feel my biggest problem is comparison. Watching reality TV shows, Cake Boss, & wishing I was part of that family. They are a close knit loving family. My family isn’t close. We are spread out from China, Texas, GA, TN & VA. Must realize that God has me where He wants me. God search my heart & change me. Make me more like you.

    Blessings 🙂

    • I think many of us struggle with the same thing, friend! It’s easy to fall into comparison especially with social media and television, but I try to remind myself that we are not really seeing their whole life. Everyone has issues and struggles, pain and hurt…and helps me know that my life is normal and there is good if I can just focus on that.

      Thanks for sharing!
