  1. Father’s Day is always bitter sweet for me. I love to celebrate my husband and I enjoy helping the kids to make it a special day for him, however, I can’t help but reflect on my own father who passed away less than a month after our first child was born. I was a daddy’s girl and still, almost 19 years later, miss him deeply.

I have loved and appreciated over the years though where God the Father has stepped in and filled that void and made the hard times a little easier.

To all of those who find themselves Fatherless today, whether it’s because you lost your Father or if he was never there, know that you have one greater in Heaven who sees you and loves you and will provide the comfort you need today and everyday.

  2. Father’s Day is always so emotional to me. I am 77 years old and my father died when he was 58 from cancer that he suffered for a long time. Back in the 60’s, there was not all the technical things and treatments that they have now. I watched my father die on Christmas Day and he could not get out of bed. My Mother, sister and I stood around his bed in their home knowing it was almost time. I kept going downstairs as I was crying so hard. My Mother told me, he said to her, “Is Betsy scared? Please tell her I am not.” Later that day we had to get the ambulance to take him to the hospital where he died New Year’s Eve day. The night before we were there with him, but he was in a coma. I touched him and said, “Daddy, I love you so much” I was the only one that got a response from him. My mother whispered to me, that tells you that your Daddy doesn’t want you to be scared. I knew that the Lord and Jesus and my Holy Spirit were always around me and that gives me much comfort, but my father was my best friend and his passing was very difficult for me to absorb, but I realized that he was somewhere much better. He had been heavily into the Church and helping there doing anything the church needed. But I wish all of you reading the devotional today a Happy Father’s Day for your fathers or others. If they are gone, we must remember that Father’s Day is still important no matter what. Love to you all and prayers as well………….Betsy Basile

  3. In Courage,

Happy Fathers’ day to all the dads out there. No matter what Fathers’ day means to you remember this: God loves you immensely. We sang this song at church today may it be a reminder to everyone:
Good Good Father by Chris Tomin
Oh, I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think You’re like
But I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
And You tell me that You’re pleased and that I’m never alone
    You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
    And I’m loved by You
    It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
Oh, and I’ve seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we’re all searching for answers only You provide
‘Cause You know just what we need before we say a word
    You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
    And I’m loved by You
    It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
Because You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us
You are perfect in all of Your ways
Oh, You’re perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us
    Oh, it’s love so undeniable
    I, I can hardly speak
    Peace so unexplainable
    I, I can hardly think
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still into love, love, love
    You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
    And I’m loved by You
    It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
And You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
    And I’m loved by You
    It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
    You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
    And I’m loved by You
    It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
    (You’re a good, good Father)
You are perfect in all of Your ways (it’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are)
    (And I’m loved by You)
You are perfect in all of Your ways (it’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am)

    Blessings 🙂
