“I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave,[a] you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night—
but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you.”
Psalm 139:7-12 NLT
Maybe you’re reading this with your toes in the sand, letting the sun warm places you forgot were cold. Or maybe you’re wiping smudges off the kitchen counter for the tenth time today, wondering if anything you do really matters. Or you’re clocking in for another day of a job you love… or one you really don’t.
Wherever you are — on vacation or in the thick of your everyday — this truth remains: God is with you. Right now. Right here.
His presence isn’t reserved for church pews or mountaintop moments. Psalm 139 reminds us that from the beach to the backyard — and every mundane, messy, or marvelous place in between — we are never outside the reach of His love or the help of His hand.
You may feel overwhelmed by the weight you’re carrying: anxious thoughts, parenting struggles, job stress, or just the ache of being unseen. But sister, you are not alone. God sees. God stays. God supports. His Spirit hovers over your chaos like He did in the beginning — bringing light, forming beauty, whispering peace.
There is joy to be found — not because your circumstances are easy, but because Jesus is near. And in His presence, there is always joy (Psalm 16:11).
So take a deep breath.
Look up. Look around.
That patch of blue sky? That giggle from your child? That quiet moment with your coffee?
That’s joy.
That’s Jesus, right here with you.
Jesus, thank You for being with me in every moment. Help me to notice You — to find joy not in perfect circumstances but in Your perfect presence. Today, let me live with eyes wide open to Your nearness and heart anchored in Your love. Amen.
I just love this. Thank You, Jesus
Amen!
Yes we are never along God is with us 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It is us that feel God is God has moved. No God has not moved it is us that have moved. He is the same yesterday today and forever and God love for us is unconditional. So no matter were we go in life God is there. Like these two kids that let us know God is with us at all times. They are even good for us as Adults to remember as well 1: He’s Got the whole world in his Hands: 2: Jesus love is very wonderful. How true that is. This also let’s me know we are never alone “As God have given us a gift of 84,000 seconds today have you used one of them to say THANK YOU to GOD?” Have we? Thank you for today’s reading love it. This is a very pleasant reminder for Sunday, June 22, 2025 and I always live my life that way. I am not perfect but if I forget once and awhile, I ask for God’s forgiveness. I have learned much over my 77 years and my faith is strong and unshakeable. Have to go now to get ready to go to church. Thanks for the devotional. I love every one of them……………………Betsy
Not sure who to thank here. (On Sundays, the authors don’t take credit.) But this lesson resonates with me. This morning, after the bombing of Iran. Bombs to make peace. I guess it worked that one time in WWII. So glad God is in control.
Simply …. Amen ❤️
AMEN!!! Just what I needed to read this morning. I’m a 74 year old woman who has raised 3 sons while working full time and pursuing a college education. I didn’t have the luxury of vacations or time off to just relax or take care of me! I was exhausted most of the time.
Then, 26 years ago, I met and married a man who just jumped right in and started helping me with every day chores. He even wanted me to quit my job that was daily wearing me out! We enjoyed our time together and had a peaceful life.
Fast forward to today and I’ve had several years, in the recent past, of health problems. Covid 19 started it all. I’m still fighting to recover daily.
Three and a half years ago we took in my 15 yr old granddaughter. Long story short because her parents weren’t able to take care of her.
This morning I woke up with chores, should dos, expectations I couldn’t decide which to address first. But I had slept well for a change so got out of bed. That was my first mistake! I came down stairs and found my granddaughter up and dressed. She was on her way to work. As we started a conversation I noticed my 1 yr old pup had something sticking out of her mouth. She’s famous for picking up all sorts of things from the yard. So I grabbed her and started pulling the ‘object’ out of her mouth. To my horror and disgust (I hadn’t even poured my morning coffee)it was a dead baby bird.
I came back in the house and while I made my coffee and fed the pets, my granddaughter started in on one of her rants about work! My brain screamed Uuuuuggggghhhhh!!!! Not now! But her 19 year old brain kept her mouth in gear spewing about the messed up schedule at her job! My tired 74 year old brain was trying to decide whether to go back to bed or just scream!
In the 3 1/2 years she’s been with us she’s had more jobs than I can remember and each one was abysmal, according to her vast knowledge of the working world.
NOT today Lord, not this early in the day, PLEASE!!! At that moment the ‘chores’and ‘should dos’ looked better than listening to this tirade!!!
She finally left for work. My coffee was ready, the pets fed and I sat down and exhaled as I opened my messages. Your story was where God led me! That’s when I gave this whole story to Him! I can’t change how my granddaughter feels about her job, I didn’t make the schedules. I can’t get all the chores done today that need to be done. Wait did I say need?! Really the world will not implode if my tired old 74 yr old body doesn’t get them done today! But I can just take this quiet time this morning and relax with my cup of coffee. I can take this time to rest in Jesus Christ and enjoy this moment. This morning I can and will spend time in his word! Amen!
In Courage,
Life can get busy & stressful. Often we forget that God is there with us. He sees, knows & cares for us. There is no hiding from Jesus. Come to him with your worries, trials & tribulations. He is waiting for you.
Blessings 🙂
This writing is excellent. I forwarded it to my stepdaughter. She really liked it. Am sure it
touched her heart. I needed to read this writing
because my husband went to be with Jesus 2 months ago I am going through the grieving process. Sometimes I feel alone. So, this writing
really helped me this evening. You are a good writer.
