  1. Thanks for the reminder …
WISDOM — SKILLFUL LIVING (So vital these confusing days)
Proverbs 4:5 (NLT) Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.

    • If you’re in my age category, you’ll well remember the WWJD logo… What Would Jesus Do? I had several brightly colored wrist bands I wore that I received from my youth group leaders. What a truth this holds. I find myself even today seeking wisdom in so many different unexpected circumstances…and yes! What WOULD Jesus do??!! It still puts things in perspective for me to imagine what His response would have been as He lived here on earth. His Holy Spirit is my guide in all things. Thank you for this reminder!

    • Why do they only offer you to read on The Weeknd and throughout the week you can listen to the video. I wish we could do that every day. Thanks for listening

  2. This devotional today I have been smiling ever since I started reading this. I have experienced all of what you mentioned. Now this took me some time to accomplish all of it, but I am 76 years old and when I began my first job, I know what God had told me. Start slow and with whatever job it is, even though it might not be your “Dream Job” as I call it. That is what I did and it was just answering the phone at a trucking company. I was there 10 years before it was closed due to the highest managers getting a bit greedy. I was only on the phones for about 2 months when they noticed that I handled calls the right way and they asked me if I would like to work in payroll for 300 truck drivers and I remembered what God told me, small steps so I said yes. Turned out I became the Payroll Supervisor and believe me I learned and gained much wisdom in dealing with these men. Of course, paychecks are very important to all of us; however, these men could get nasty, use awful language and try to intimidate you. I figured this out an gained wisdom here too how was the BEST way to handle this. Once again, God was right. I gained their respect and they would always ask for me as they knew I was true to my word and would help them and solve the problem and if they needed an Emergency Advance, I approved it, fix the error and that would show up on their next weeks check. In between this job, I had several other jobs as I needed a paycheck too. I did not like any of these jobs, but once again I recalled what God had told me and I learned something in every place I worked. Next, the “dream job “, out of the blue appeared. I am confident that Jesus knew, it was time. That is where I worked my last 35 years of my work life and I was a Customer Service Manager. At first they were not sure about me, but after they watched how I could fix situations in anything that came up, they knew they made the correct decision in hiring me, thus my ” Dream Job”. So anyone out there that may be experiencing what I did. Please, don’t give up. Jesus will help you and if you are patient, you will finally get YOUR ” Dream job”. Oh just to tell you when I took my first job at age 23, it was cleaning houses, so when I say I started from the bottom, I really did and I also learned something from that job, so even if you are stuck somewhere you don’t want to be. Be observant and I guarantee you will gain wisdom from what you may think is a job that means nothing. God and Jesus will help you along the way. Please believe me. Thank you for this beautiful story and scripture as well. This is a keeper for me. Love and prayers go out to all of you………………..Betsy Basile

    • Amazing .Reading on the comment above is something. Well I started working at 19, way younger, and it’s been 13 years. Yes, indeed, wisdom is important to discern every move half way down the year and half way down a lifetime, correct? I’m not stuck, it is a beautiful season of rest. In there, if one, is listening to wisdom, it’s not being iddle. It’s recalibration, reset. The people whom you’ve help has it that you have gained their respect. In any way, life proceeds, you leave that as experience. You will be remembered, or not. You proceed because time does. It’s not for everyone to tell where you would lead from point A to B, it is for me to find out after heeding God’s call. Not just a phone call, as God saves me over there and everywhere. For wisdom, is to be price more than rubies, silver and gold. And the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Rest in the Lord, that is wisdom! What a beautiful word, REST. Not unproductive, it is reassuring that I don’t need it all figured out. My maker knows what He is doing in me. And what He is bringing to pass and accomplished in this humble life– it’s more than a job (dream or not), as it is God’s job to take delight in His children, in surprises, trusting that God has it all. In that, God’s doing is beyond analysis and human logic. He simply surprises the children He delights. Rest.

  3. Proverbs is written by David’s son, King Solomon who asks not for wealth but wisdom. For decision making, wealth was added. Reflecting at his life, he has wisdom to decisively decide between disputes among an ownership of a son between two claiming mothers, one saying to slice the baby into half and have the 2 mother share. The other is a mother enough to have the life of a baby be spared.

But, the stumbling block of Solomon’s life were his 900 wives and concubines that led him to worship his wives gods which the living God detest. The wise King was outwitted by the evil of his own heart, and the girls. Guard your ❤️ for out of it are wellspring of life. Be careful.

  4. In Courage,

Lately in prayers for myself & others I ask God to give everyone a discerning heart & mind. Wisdom is so much better than all the treasures of this world. With knowledge we will know exactly what to do, when & how. We all need to God’s wisdom to handle the problems of this world. Only He has all the answers.

    Blessings 🙂

  5. How timely as I read Proverbs 2 today on the 2nd day of the month, this really captured the same tone on seeking Wisdom like a treasure. More precious than silver or gold, is our daily walk in integrity & righteousness that comes from our Lord. Just a closer walk with Thee…
