  1. I love this. I live in the north (Michigan). Winter is beautiful here if you embrace it. Now that I’m retired and don’t have to drive through it, I can enjoy the beauty and the rest that winter brings. It’s a slower season. I think God gave us seasons with intention. I choose to embrace each of them. I love your Chasing God’s Glory concept. Thanks for sharing the beauty of Yosemite in winter. I probably will never see that in person, but it is beautiful to see it through your eyes.

  2. What a beautiful description of Winter! God even gives our beautiful gardens a time of rest!

  3. The story goes, I was born in a blizzard in New York when the weather was more harsh than it is these days. I have lived in Maine for over 30 years and spent several years living in Colorado. Winter is in my blood and I love it. For me, looking at the ice on rivers, the ice buildup along the ocean shore and the Colorado mountains against that amazing blue sky is so majestic. I cannot help but be in wonder of God’s glory. I feel awake in the winter. And doesn’t the saying go, “if winter is here, can spring be far behind?” winter for me is hope and simplicity.

  4. So beautiful Dorina. I feel like I was standing right next to you! I love NoCal. I grew up in Santa Cruz. We took trips to Yosemite often. I love love the 4 seasons. Now, in SoCal to be closer to my husband’s family, is not quite the same. No 4 seasons like NoCal, Utah or Michigan. God’s majesty is still here, I just have to look a little closer and take road trips ( ;

    ….I just reopened Walk Run Soar…let the adventure begin yay!!!

  5. I can relate to losing a loved one as my father died. We buried his remains in the coldest week in history here in Kansas City with subzero weather. With family coming in, it made travel so difficult. Winter can be tough. I’m just so grateful for the comfort of knowing that my father is in a better place with God.

  6. Dorina,

    I moved from sunny Tampa, FL to Upper E. TN (on the NC VA border.). I love living in the mountains & having four distinct seasons. The joke around here is “if you don’t like the weather-wait it will change soon & quickly”. Winter is a time to slow down, take a step back & sit with God. Solomon said it best in Ecclesiastes 3: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. God gave us seasons to enjoy His nature in various forms.

    Blessings 🙂
