  1. Thank you for your beautiful writing. Yes we are all human. BUT GOD meets us where we are, fighting or fleeing He provides what we need. May we be acutely aware of His presence & be gentle not only with others (as vital as that is) but with ourselves too! Jesus will be magnified in our gentleness & kindness in the midst of a confused hurting world.

  2. Thank you, Holley! This was just what I needed this morning. It’s not so much pandemic fatigue that’s got me going these days, but “summer fatigue”. My hubby and I have a small farm my husband isn’t ready to retire from yet. This is our busy season: fences to mend, hay to haul and store, oodles of yard work. It can be overwhelming. Summer doesn’t mean “vacation” at this house! So I needed your words of encouragement. Thanks again.

    • Thank you Holly for this. I’m from Nigeria and a lot is going on in our country right now. Rumors of war and civil unrest. But one thing is clear, Jesus is victory in every crisis.

  3. The Holy Spirit was at work in me as I read your meditation.
I, also, have some anxiety while getting back to our “new normal” .
Feeling cautious about hugging others had a deep need. God called to use the gift he created for me. I was asked by our pastor to be a greeter in our parish because I was a natural hugger. When I hug someone, I look at their face and into their eyes and Jesus shows me if they need something more than a hug. And ask them how they are feeling and more often than not, we talk about why they are hurting or need more of the strength of the Spirit in their life to help them get through a difficult situation they are facing. And then we pray and then we hug again feeling God’s Embrace around us too.
I believe that without touching. We would not really be living. God holds us in His Warm Embrace every day because He loves us so much and delights in us.
A few weeks ago I would have added fright to those feelings but through your touch I have grown.

  4. “God, what truth do you want to speak to my heart today?” I just copied that on a Post-It to put in my Bible study notebook. Too often I jump right in without such a prayer, but my desire is to be a rightly-focused student in the Lord’s School of Maturity. Thank you, Holley, for your inspiration!

  5. Holley,

Such a good descriptions of flight-or-fight you used. Sometimes i find it could be fight-or-flight.
Whatever it is, the source of strength to fight and flight is from our God Almighty.

Thank you for your sharing. God bless.

  6. Holley,

You always have such great wisdom to disclose. This past year has been tough on everyone. Our lives were turned upside down in many ways. We need to do personal soul care & be gentle with ourselves & others as we venture back to the world. Take time daily to sit & be with God soaking up His truth. Listen to the Holy Spirit’s prompting. Great advice Holley.

    Blessings 🙂
