Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will help you;
I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 (CSB)
This is the promise for us today: God holds me when I am overwhelmed.
There is just so much right now. Everyday there are new changes to how we are to behave and distance ourselves from one another. There are the canceled plans going all the way through the summer and the unknown of what fall will bring. There is the stress from having to be and do all the things at home while also having both too much time and not enough time. It is all so overwhelming.
But we can cry out for help from the One who holds us tightly by the hand and never lets go. When we need somewhere to turn or someone to comfort us, we have God to hold us when everything becomes too much. He is right here with arms wide open to carry us through these days.

Thank you! Yes, the changes, broken trust, what appears to be unfair in how things are managed are so overwhelming. Emotional morning due to uncertain times and yet finding peace as I sit and worship my heavenly Father. He knows the hearts, He sees all! Overwhelmed but assured that He will see us thru. Totally dependence on Him! Trusting Him fully! Loving His love!

Isaiah 41:10 is such a strength giving verse for us and has always been a favorite of mine. The two below are also very good verses for the times we are in. What encourages me most in Psalm 139:10 is that it says His hand LEADS US AND HOLDS US! What a comforting message for all of us today!
Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Psalm 139:9-10
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.

Thank you for this message. Today is my mom’s 1st Birthday in Heaven. We missed her immensely and this void is such a huge hole in our hearts. With all these changes taking place currently, it is hard to find much joy. So much hurt and pain during this difficult time. Prayers for all those whose lives were affected and changed due to the virus. May we remain faithful and trust that this too shall pass. Thank you Lord for loving us.

I’m here! Yes Lord I need your arms around me. I need to feel you and hear your voice. Thank you for your blessing of life right now in these uncertain times and at times overwhelm. I ask that you protect all the front line workers and leaders, doctors and scientists that you will heal and comfort. And lastly allow a vaccine and spare loss of life.
Jesus we love you and we need you desperately and completely. Individually and as a collective. Let your plan be known and love and healing be felt to all of us in our respective trials and situational needs.
In Jesus name I ask these things, Amen.

When I hear the words, ‘fear not’ I have to first get past my perfectionist- obedient-kind of thinking and stop for a moment and consider who is saying the words. And remember the rest of the scripture…”For He is with me”.
At this point, I’m usually already braced up for failure in this area.
Because of this, I get really stuck on this one. I always have. I wish I had more faith or more trust, more whatever it is that I need when in fear … it tends to rush through me.
This beautiful blog came into my inbox this morning and the moment I saw the title, that part of me that braces up and tries to ‘not fear’ … didn’t. I simply felt His touch. And then, Him holding me. It caught me unguarded and unbraced. And it settled nicely in my spirit.
I felt His hug.

I so relate to what you expressed about your reaction to those words “fear not”, and appreciate how well you articulated it (perhaps you are a writer?). In the Christian sub-culture I grew up in, fear was akin to sin; I think that’s what psychologists would call a double-bind! So glad for you that the Lord reset your default this morning.

Thank you, Kelly!

God hold us at all times in his hands. He never leaves us. God even holds our tears in bottle. God know and loves us. God says to us my Child don’t fear I love you. Your a precious to me. God says in Peter 1 5 verse 7 Give all your worries and cares to God for he cares about what happens to You. Instant that good to know. God care what happens to us. God will never let anything happen to us. Especially when we are Overwhelmed about things in our lives. No matter what it to do with. So we can stand on the Promises in his word the Bible and Pray everyday. So let give how we are feeling to Jesus in Prayer. Let do what verse 14 says of Peter 1 if we can’t do it now at the time because of the Coronavarius text or email the love to our Christian Brother and Sisters instead. For it says Greet each other in Christian Love Peace be to be to all of you who are in Christ. Plus we can show Christ love to unsaved in the same way. By texting them or emailing them a nice message in love at this time of the Coronavarius to see how they are doing. Too show we care. Show them the Love of Jesus. You never know they might want what we have and that is Jesus for themselves as well. Love today reading. Xxx

In Courage,
Psalm 23:4 Yea though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I will fear NO evil for thou art with me; thy rod & thy staff they comfort me. He walks with us through our dark valleys like this pandemic. He is with us always. We need not fear or be overwhelmed. A great remedy for overwhelming times is prayer. Just sit & talk with God. Tell Him exactly how you feel. Let the tears fall, lament the loss of what was. Listen to calming praise music & think about all the blessings He has given you thus far. Spend time with your children reading the Bible & praying. Asking them what they fear. Let them express their emotions. Remember that God is always with us holding onto us with His righteous right hand. He isn’t letting go of His dear children.
Blessings 🙂

I absolutely understand what you are saying. Am thankful God is always with us, no matter what happens, Less work at hardware store even though is is busy. Less hours open..1.5 hrs per day. Salons not open but marijuana/hemp stores are essential and stay open? No churches open, no restaurants open for indoor seating. Our governor thinks she knows what she’s doing but not as good as WA is. More deaths there than here. A sister in Christ thinks its the last days….maybe. We never know. We need to also be ready for Jesus to return to earth. Like a thief in the night. There he is!! Coming again!!!!
Praying for our world to keep their eyes and hearts focused on God and pay attention to what the word says in scripture. Share the love, Daily! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
