  1. Becky,
I started writing again because I had been sidelined with a series of surgeries that prevented me from going anywhere or doing anything. I couldn’t bear weight on my left leg for two months. When I started my tiny blog (http://bit.ly/bev-r-blog), I had no idea that a young Christian from a Middle Eastern country, known for its brutality in persecuting Christians, would be reading. A blog post morphed into long conversations about faith and what we’re willing to sacrifice for our faith. Then came God’s quiet whisper…”Are you willing to trust me? I want you to join with Anosh and establish a Christian school in the darkest corner of the world in my name and for my glory.” Say what??? How on earth was a white middle class retired teacher going to do that? The rest was a miraculous God-story. What started out as a handful of students in a secret home-school setting is now 80 students strong and is bringing the love of Jesus and the hope of a Christian education to the poorest of the poor in this country. Lives of these orphans and impoverished children are literally being transformed and made new in Christ. Tomorrow we will celebrate Christmas by re-enacting the Nativity story, worshiping, singing and dancing, having a hearty meal together, and each child will get the only present they’ll receive this Christmas. Talk about being stretched by God when we dare to listen to His whisper. Here’s our website if anyone would like to read more and perhaps join in our mission…http://redeemerinc.org
    Blessings,
    Bev xx

    • Bev, this story is truly incredible! Only God. I’m so encouraged by your willingness to answer God’s “Are you willing?” question. He is so faithful to make much of our little. I hope your Christmas celebration was joy-full in Jesus’ name!

  2. This is beautiful and reminded me of the young girl I once was who loved adventure and looking for ways to honor God. Tomorrow I will turn 63 and so many times I mourn the girl I used to be. I loved everything about her and some way or another I have lost her along with my youth. Your words are helping me to remember that God is not finished with me and he has plenty of sunshine and adventures to offer me as long as I will take his hand and say yes Lord, I am willing.

    • Robin,
First, happy almost birthday, beautiful sister! And second, God is absolutely not done with you or your story yet! Praying He whispers to your heart today and reveals the next great adventures He has planned for you in the year ahead. xx

  3. One day I was complaining and upset with my age, and weight, clutter in my house, and dust everywhere, my head was spinning with so much stuff I had to do. Later, that day I heard a voice in my head, I know it was God, and He said “I want it that way”. It made me stop and think, how wonderful He is, He is always with us, there to comfort us, and protect us. When I have overwhelming moments I just stop and remind myself to say a quick prayer. He knows me best, and has plans for me. No wonder my favorite phrase is “Be Still , and Know .

  4. Thank you so much for sharing❣truly touched my heart and reminded me, to remember that God isnt finished with me yet too❣ Thank you for touching my heart and Merry Christmas warm, beautiful blessings❣

  5. One early morning I was very restless in the bed and going over titles of books. A book that I should write. MY STORY!!!!. I have thought about it but have been too scared. It was evident that morning after my time with God that my story needs to be written and heard. It will hurt and SHOCK my friends and family and that is the FEAR I have with all of it. I know that Lord has brought me to this season in my 49 years of life to say its time to LET GO and LET ME HAVE IT CHILD!!!!. I’m scared out of my mind more than you know, but I have a supportive husband and that is all that matters. Blessings. Prayers welcome.

    • Kimberly, I’m praying for you now as you step out in faith and boldly share the message God has entrusted to you. May your fear of others’ reactions dim compared to the joy of obeying God. xx

  6. I heard a God whisper in the middle of the night over 7 years ago to do something for young girls on beauty…Beauty Comes From The Heart (a Prom, Homecoming, special occasion dress ministry) was started in the year 2013. I had 80 dresses to choose from and 12 dresses were found for Prom. Fast forward to 2019 to date 842 dresses have been found for Prom, Homecoming, Wedding, Special occasion and Night To Shine (a Tim Tebow dance for special needs individuals). There is well over 1500 long and short dresses to choose from!! Along with dresses items added over the years were, shoes, jewelry, purses, shawls, Wedding Dresses, mother of the bride and groom dresses, men’s wear, suits, shirts, ties, pants vests. And the craziest thing is that I am a mother of 3 grown sons!! God has a sense of humor. All items are offered for a donation and if they can’t donate it’s all Free!! All money collected goes for local survivors of Human Trafficking.

      • My oldest son was killed in a single car accident 3 years ago, December 11, 2016. I feel that God called me to do this ministry to help me with my grief journey…going to the church working with the dresses and the events has helped me to become closer to God. HE is the true coordinator of this ministry. He sends a dress and then He sends the person who needs the dress and it fits just right!! I can’t do that…only God can!!

  7. Becky,

I have a older friend. years ago her husband died & she didn’t understand why she was still living. Our pastor’s wife told her “God isn’t done with you yet.” Today she still helps a few elderly people with cleaning, cooking, & going to doctors. The son of one she works for broke his hip & she has moved in with them caring for her daily. I told her once recently that this is exactly why you are still here. These elderly people need you & God knew that! God has certainly used me in the past. I was blessed to be on a few Kairos Ministry teams-“Emmaus walk for prison”. Scary at first going into a maximum security prison. Once you saw the faces & heard the stories of those on the walk you knew God had worked in that place. One vivid story I remember-each person on the walk got a birthday cake with their name on it. One guy stood up & said “I never had a birthday cake before”. God will continually use & stretch us to reach as many people as possible. Don’t think He’s done with you. He will use you in some small way.

    Blessings 🙂

  8. Long ago as a senior in high school, I felt God’s nudge to sign up for a semester-long mission opportunity. My assignment included Honduras, assisting at a correspondence school for seven weeks, and Ecuador for four-plus months, teaching preschool and kindergarten to missionary children. Just like you, Becky, the experience tested me and stretched me.
Now, all these decades later as a retiree, it is encouraging to realize: “He’s still in the business of surprising and stretching me — still pursuing my heart, still showing that He’s not done writing my story as part of His.” (Thank you for that, Becky.) With you I want to embrace the adventures on the horizon until I see Jesus face to face. THAT will be the ultimate adventure!!

  9. I wemT to Kings Canyon for the first time this last April and we drove back and saW the.church camp, I can only imagine what it was like for you to spend the summer there.
