  1. Michele,
I had to laugh because I have sniffed, thumped, and inspected melons trying to pick just the right one and you’re right – you’d have better odds in Vegas lol. I tend to look at what I don’t have with regard to people. A hundred people could like me, and one doesn’t. I get so focused on why the one doesn’t instead of looking at the 100 that do. I am learning to celebrate what IS, and leave what isn’t to God. Often people not liking us has more to do with what is going on inside them (turmoil) than anything we have or haven’t done. That’s an area for God’s healing and is out of my hands. Thanks for the perspective adjustment!
    Blessings,
    Bev xx

  2. Definitely a perspective change! Thanks for sharing an important lesson. We need to be grateful for what is and leave the past behind and the future where it belongs…in the future! God is with us what is that verse or say…God goes before us and behind us and is with us this gives me great comfort to know!

  3. Very interesting! I LOVE watermelons & have never seen nor tasted a yellow one; but the way you tied that together about trusting God is really good! For your future info, turn over a watermelon to look for yellow underneath it, which means it is ripe & if the stem is green, it is fresh. I won’t tell you to open your hand & hit it & if it sounds like a drum it is a good one..For some reason, my daughter gets embarrassed when I do that.. :o) God bless!

  4. Michele,

When I get discouraged with what I don’t have-I simply make a list of ALL the blessings God has given me. I even compare myself to others & make myself realize how blessed I am. It’s easy in this social media crazed world to see what we lack. Like Bev said how many likes do I have or how is my book doing? We don’t stop to think on ALL the blessings God bestows on us daily. We need to change our focus from us & this world to God. Look at what we have compared to other countries. Like the song says “count your blessings name them one by one.” It’s that simple. Once done we will be content with what we have.

    Blessings 🙂

  5. Every time I eat a watermelon I’ll remember to look for the good in what I already have. Thanks, friend.
