“God looked over everything He had made; it was good, so very good!”
Genesis 1:31, MSG
He Calls Us Good . . .
With a word, God made the world.
He simply uttered, “Let there be light.” And there was light.
Day and night.
Moon and stars.
Land and sky.
He spoke the universe into being. And it was good.
With each new word He breathed, the whole earth sprang to life. Creatures of every kind crawled and climbed. Wings took flight.
God’s very words — imbued with the power to create — showered the earth with new color. Yet, this was merely the overture of the symphony to come.
God spoke again and created man. Then He looked over everything He had made, His symphony of creation swelling with crescendo, and you know what He said? He said it is good, so very good.
That’s what He thinks of His creation. That’s what He thinks of you and me.
He calls us good, so very good.
Lord, help us to remember that we are Your workmanship.
Your love reaches beyond our imagination. Your sacrifice covers beyond our comprehension.
We are good because You called us so. We thank You for the light and life You bring.
For You are good. And You alone are worthy of our praise.
We celebrate God’s goodness even as we await the final encore of His symphony. For we know that one day Christ will return and restore — once and for all — all that is lost and broken. And until that day comes, He invites us to be with Him in sweet communion.

Denise,
This is a lovely reminder that everything that God made is good, including me. I forget that so many times. I can’t wait to see the full tapestry and to hear the full symphony of God’s creation, when that time comes, but until then I need to remember what you wrote that I am good, as is all His creation and so today, I will do my best to pass that message onto my sons and others I meet/interact with.
Thank you,
Gillian.

Thank you. I need need this reminder often. Especially this morning, I was feeling bad because of things I set out to accomplish yesterday but did not get to. God did not say we are good fir the things We do but because He said so. Amazing!

This is a lovely reminder for me this morning. After two panic attacks yesterday left me highly anxious, fatigued (yet unable to sleep), and upset, it is a blessing to be reminded that, even in my fragile state, He looks down and says “it is good.” Thank you.

Denise,
So many times I mess up, yet God still calls me His own. I am selfish and yet He loves me. I feel like I am anything but good, yet He calls me good. His love is humbling. What an awesome and loving God we serve.
Blessings,
Bev

Denise,
God looked over everything He made and said it was good. When He looked over man-made in His image-He said it was “Very Good”! We must remember we were made in His image. I have a hard time wondering why in the world He would go and endure the cross for little me. The one who messes up all the time and is less than perfect. Yet He did it and I will try to let God’s light shine through me. Treating people with respect, love and gentleness. Smiling and saying hello have a great day! Trying to make their day better!
Blessings 🙂

Denise,
Listen & meditate on the words of the song “How Great Thou Art”. The third verse really gets to me. “And when I think that God His son not sparing sent Him to die I scarce can take it in. That on a cross MY burdens gladly bearing He bled and died to take away MY sins. God loved us so much that He sent His only son to die! Not just any death but death on a cross bearing MY burdens to take away MY sins. WOW!!!!

I thought I’d add;
question”how does this impact your daily life?” It varies daily but I think it’s important that I try to do the good He created in me.

When I gain a few pounds, my first reaction is to compare my weight with others who are skinnier than myself. But when I encounter problems with my self image, I’m reminded that God says,” I’m fearfully and wonderfully made!” His awesome, unconditional love overwhelmes me day by day.

We should all reflect the beauty of the the one who saves us and is altogether lovely. None of us are good because of what we do, but because of what He did. He calls us Hepzibah, may we become cowns of beauty in the hand of the Lord. Isaiah 62:3

“We are good because [God] called us so.” Praise God our worth to him is not based on pedigree or performance! He loves us because that’s his nature. And out of that love, he wants desperately to be invited into our lives–as our powerful Savior, caring Shepherd and all-wise guide. Thank you for today’s encouraging words, Denise!
