Lots of people I know are really great at buying gifts. Gift giving is their love language. They love the challenge of finding just the right gift for each person on their list. My little sister is one of these people.
I, however, am not.
My love language is quality time. Right before Christmas this year, my husband and I are taking a short “baby moon.” We’re going on a 4-night cruise, and my grandparents are going with us! I’m so excited about this time away.
Of course I’m excited about the cruise itself – being on a boat and at the beach (and let’s be honest, the unlimited food is a big perk to this pregnant mama now, too), but I’m MOST excited about just spending time with people I love. This cruise is a time for my hubby and me to connect before this little baby enters our world and changes (so I hear) everything. It’s also a time to spend with my grandparents who I don’t get to see all that often. Ten hours in the car to get to the port? Bring it on! Conversations and bouts of silence and deciding where to grab lunch on the way together sounds so fun because we’ll be together! My favorite part about the holidays is the time I get to spend with my people.
