  1. i’ve had a lot of still lately, almost stuck. so, restore. my plan is to restore. item by item, task after task. find that peaceful rhythm of picking up and putting away and then celebrate crossing the days finish line. enjoy your stillness angela! —kris

  2. Today I am restarting my routine. It feels so good to work out, play with my son, start the laundry, and fix myself a good breakfast (even take my vitamins – ha!). But I’m craving time with the Lord so that will definitely be a part of my day.

  3. This sounds so nice 🙂 Enjoy every last second of it. May the Lord reveal Himself and may He speak loud – as you simmer today.

    Blessings and joy,
    Kate 🙂

  4. kris (post 1) Read your post and can fully relate – I’ve had too much still and need to get back into a full routine!!!

  5. I just lost my job, I am in a stressful custody battle and divorce. Seeing my soon to be ex is stressful during the exchanges, I can still see his face as he yelled still hear his curses to me, still feel fear as he convinces his family and friends I am the bad one. Except for my baby I am alone in this state I moved to, for a man who told me he loves me. I left after 2 years of spiritual confusion and attacks, I don’t know God as I did before. The church here abandoned me, I feel I am a burden, a fool, an idiot to be judged and ridiculed. I too am going up be still, immerse myself in God, so I can trust Him again, and not let the pain from the ?Christians? I turned to, but dismissed me because I do not fit in, not keep me from my salvation.

    • Your story is heartbreaking! Please let me apologise on behalf of Christ followers everywhere for the treatment you have received from us. Thankfully our God is kinder but I see you know that. May the God of all comfort you and send you two hands, two feet and kind eyes to sit and pray with you.

    • I am so sorry for what you are going through .I will pray for strength, peace, guidance and comfort for you.
If you keep your heart open , he will be there , you are not alone .

      Bless you and you baby!

    • Sweet Elizabeth, I am so very sorry to learn about your struggles. I can only imagine the pain gripping your heart right now. I promise that I will spend sometime praying for you today. Please know that you are loved and cherished and that God will not forsake you.

    • Elizabeth,

Praying for God’s peace to overwhelm you and calm you during these trying times!

I am truly sorry for “Christians” abandoning you during your time of need. They should have embraced you and shown you some love–especially at Christmas!

God will sustain you and shower you with His love and grace–know that you are being prayed for now!

    • Elizabeth,
God bless you! I have also felt distant and forsaken before as well. May He restore to you the joy of your salvation, and make both His love and presence to soak into your very being. When we know that He has our back, we can face anything with peace & courage.

  6. After taking my mama to a nail appointment, I plan to come home to sit still, maybe with a movie or a book. And I’m going to pray for those who I come across who need a prayer, like Elizabeth above.

  7. What a wonderful article…sort of an anchor to life rocking back and forth. I woke up this morning with Matthew 6:33….”Seek ye first the kingdom of God and HIs righteousness, and ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE ADDED TO YOU.”
So I’m being still, seeking Him, and I know that the ‘All’ will fall into place.
    Blessings to you!
    Debbie

  8. What a great perspective to have for today! I, too, will take time to be still and reflect on the joy of our Savior being given to us to save us from our sins!!! I will give thanks for the many blessings God has bestowed upon myself and my family and I will pray for those who are in need of it. Elizabeth (from above comments) , you are on my prayer list!

~Blessings to all! Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

  9. Well, I’d like to write down and record my memories of the events of over the last week, but cleaning house is going to have to take precedence.

  10. God is good — Especially in the midst of confusion and painful circumstances.
I pray that God would quieten my soul.

  11. Thank-you for your beautifully written thoughts and for sharing them.

I agree that today is a perfect day to enjoy the moment and simply to be grateful for it.

Blessings to you and your loved ones !

  12. I liked today’s post although our celebration is tonight. I have a traumatic brain injury so all of these months of making things and decorating left their toll. Now I’m down to the last wrapping and stuff for stockings that goes in bags. But it makes my head hurt. Someone please pray ill do ok.

    • Gwen,

That is remarkable that you have come this far after what you have endured and have achieved what you have.

I have you in my thoughts and prayers and truly hope that you are able to enjoy the time with your loved ones in comfort.

  13. Today was putting the house back in order. After our family’s Christmas morning we then went to the grandparents and spent the rest of the 25th. Once home it was off to bed so today, it’s was about getting the house back from the black trash bags full of gift wrap, dishes left to be done, bathrooms cleaned, etc. I can be still tonight and tomorrow and I will certainly have MORE joy in a tidy environment. 🙂

  14. Today I got up at 5 with my hubby and saw him off to work! I relaxed and enjoyed some tv, & music. Did some exercising, read the Bible, cooked, got my haircut and some groceries and did a little cleaning and laundry–mostly just rested.

For me, though I am off work for 11 days-go back January 2nd–so for the remainder of the time off I will relax and reflect on what Christmas really means!

  15. This reminder of stillness is perfect. Mine was a day of slow being – some cleaning, some reading, some just living – and all the while the rhythm of life simply slowed to still. Ended the day with two hours by a bonfire. Thank you for this reminder of intentional stillness.

  16. Loved the comparison to a wrapped package. That is exactly how I felt at times! Today was not a “sit” down day for me but the weekend will be. Looking forward to being with family at the family home where there will be lots of snow, time around the fire, long talks, naps and reading of books. That will be my “still” time and it can’t come soon enough 🙂

  17. I ended up playing 5 games of Battleship with the kids, teaching my daughter how to make bracelets using her new bead kit, loading gift cards onto their kindle and ipads and baking my son his favorite pretzels. It was a kid centered day that left me in my PJ’s until 2:30 in the afternoon and I relished in every minute of it. I am blessed.

  18. Thank you for your wonderful posts, along with all your sisters at incourage.me whose words of encouragement help keep me centered on my God! Blessings to all of you in 2013!
