I sit and I work and I dry little tears and I fold the laundry some more.
These are the things I do for my family.
There’s this sense that it many times goes unnoticed.
Prayer, for me, for Him.
For the Us that He’s building between us.
Caring for His people, especially the least.
These are the things I do for my God.
These chores, these tasks, these burdens carried – they never go unnoticed.
Each bead of sweat for God is counted and known.
These are the things that will catch His attention.
That will go up as a memorial to Him, just like Cornelius.
I want to be a Cornelius.
I want to have my faith pull me into places and heart-positions I never expected.
I want to always be reaching.
I want to be noticed by the One that holds it all in His hands.
I want to build a life of memorials.

How are you catching God’s attention today? What are the memorials in your life?

My memorials are in my work with university patients (students) in a clinic setting. I try to treat each one of them as God would treat me – no matter the reason for being there – something stupid or serious.
I also give memorials by praying for all my co-workers and their various needs. I do little things for my dad and hubby.
I pray that each act, whether big or little is a wonderful, beautiful memorial to God.

It is all service and worship for the Lord first. You are so right. When we lay our expectations for being noticed or appreciated at His Feet, we are free. We can serve in joy.

Today, I am trying to shut up and really listen to God. Being quiet and showing Him I’m listening is my memorial to God today.

I love the photo image…reaching for Him…even on hard days. And doing what needs to be done; serving, loving, reaching…even on hard days.

Ari, I read this the day it posted, but days later it continues to comfort, encourage, and rejuvenate this tired Mama’s soul. You are amazing, friend, and you show why He is amazing. Love you to pieces!

Beautiful words. I want to be always reaching for Him as well. Sometimes I forget that He records each word, each deed, each thought. (even colects our tears:)
Psa 56:8~~ You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?
