Tear down the walls, see the world,

Is there something we have missed?

After writing this post several weeks back, I sat in a Wednesday night youth service and cried.

And thought about my walls.

The youth pastor approached the stage after this song and started in on the walls we put up. Walls that separate us – from others, from God, from truth.

Fear.

Anger.

Bitterness.

Unforgiveness.

But God had already been showing me my wall and it wasn’t mentioned that night, although my heart was screaming it.

Turn from ourselves, look beyond.

There is so much more than this.

My wall?

Selfishness.

It is an ugly wall. A harsh wall. A strong wall.

I’ve seen it piece-by-piece as life has unfolded: in marriage, in parenthood, in time and finances.

And I’m ready for it to go down – completely.

But how?

29 years of me, me, me is a LOT to demolish.

More than this life, there is love.

There is hope and this is real.

Him. His love. That is the answer.

Your love is changing us, calling us.

We’re SUPPOSED to be uncomfortable – always striving, running the race, changing, trying to be more like Him.

But only His love can make REAL change and demolition of these barriers possible.

Let love tear down these walls,

that all creation would come back to You.

It’s all for You.

It’s time for them to come down ladies.

For us. For our loved ones. For the lost and forgotten.

For Him.
