Most of you know her as Especially Heather. And it’s true, “it’s not about the hair, it’s about her heart.”
I adored meeting her at She Speaks this past summer, learning of her amazing faith journey, and getting to know her heart on the pages of (in)courage. She’s a survivor, a warrior in grace, lover, and passionate wife and mom.
Right now, our friend Heather, your friend – who pours out her heart here and shares encouraging words, needs our support. She needs our prayers, a lift. She needs a hug.
If you haven’t been following her blog, here is the latest in the very difficult health journey that she’s been on with her daughter, Emma.
Leave a CommentApril 8, 2010 – Yesterday was a really hard day full of total shock. Emma was still having seizures throughout the day, so the neurologist came in and discussed with us putting her in a medically induced coma to give her brain rest, so they did that last night. We suspected, when she was awake, that she could not see because she would not track. That was confirmed yesterday by the Neurologist who said she has cortical blindess caused by the swelling/seizures on both the left and right side of her occipital lobes. We do not know how much of her sight she will regain. She is vocal but will not respond to questions. When we asked the neurologist if this was permanent or could be recovered over time, and he said that we would know more once we get the seizures under control. Her brain is

My browser doesn’t seem to like the dayspring site. But I am praying for Heather and her family, in faith that God is holding them in the palm of His hand.
