  3. Dear Michele……………Your words and feelings are perfect for Memorial Day. My father was in World War II stationed in London during the Blitzkrieg and he as well as your father and grandfather would never speak to us about what went on there, even if we asked multiple times. Have a few very good friends that returned Vietnam and again, they would not discuss anything with us even though we are best friends. My other uncles all served in one of the wars, also without words. I often wonder if they were afraid to tell us for fear of really scaring us. My Mother said her brother was never the same when he returned from the South Pacific which must have really been a horror in those jungles. I am sure he had PTSD but as you said, it was not even diagnosed with that in those days. I will pray for all of the veterans and those that lost their lives helping to keep our freedom, but we know who can help us and I will pray to Him as well……………………..Betsy Basile

    • Oh, Betsy. I can only imagine what your father experienced! My grandfather drove a fuel tanker to the front lines, and that’s about all he was willing to say. As much as I hate war, I shudder to think what this world would’ve been like without men and women willing to stand up against evil. Even so, I sleep at peace knowing we have a God who will one day heal all wounds, right all wrongs, and take us home to be with him forever.

  4. Michele,

My husband & I worked Memorial day (in hospitals). We did it so others could be with their families enjoying the day remembering those who died for our freedom. I am eternally grateful for the men and women who bravely fought the enemy for our country. Even more I praise Jesus for the precious gift of His life blood to buy my pardon.

    Blessings 🙂
