  1. My new mantra, Barb: “God, I can’t. But You can. So, I will let You.”
    Thank you for wise words.

    God Bless!

  4. Love this reminder that God can! I have had a similar situation in my life where I finally fell down and Gave it To God. I also got the call for an amazing job that I love right after that. 🙂 God is Good!!
    Blessings, Wendy

  5. Powerful. Feels so simple, yet our human minds cannot let go. Thank you for this reminder today, to “Let go & Let God”.

  6. Thank you for this inspirational post. It resonates with me 100%.
If it’s gonna get done, I trust our faithful God, to do it!

  7. Oh Barb, that’s so my tendency…to tell God how I want Him to answer my prayer. This is an excellent reminder to Let Go and Let God. Thank you!

  8. Amen, Barb! We serve an Awesome God! And He does indeed hear our prayers when we surrender all to HIM! I hope your Cub, got the help he needed!! Pray he is well today! Blessings!

  9. OH MY GOSH Barb! This was me a few months ago dealing with my husband’s health issues…. “Instead of seeking God first before running around for answers, I figured out what I wanted to do and then I told God what I wanted Him to do” The wall was stronger than ever!
As soon as I gave it to God and really let it go “the wall” disappeared. Calmness and faith filled us both. It’s in His hands and His timing. Period! Thank you Jesus \0/
Barb, I will be passing this message on to my daughter and son-in-law. Marriage and teenagers. A tough season for the family. She will pass it along to her friend struggling. My friend’s daughter is also having a very tough season with family and marriage and on and on and on…
    Thank you

    • Janet, thank you for sharing your story – I know that it will be an encouragement for other readers. I pray that this devotional also speaks hope into your daughter and friend’s daughter, too.

  10. Thank you for this Barb. What a beautiful reminder that God is in control and He loves us and cares for us no matter what. How I needed this reminder today. God Bless you.

  11. God’s timing is perfect. I’m working and thought I need Jesus after the week I have had. I put in my ear buds and choose to listen to your POD cast on Surrender. God is so alive there is NO doubt ever, but as you said, we tend to forget that once HE is not doing as we wish. I too think I’m this woman of faith although I fail daily, but I see myself as stronger in my faith than my husband and some of my friends, so there…I must be this strong woman of faith always looking at God when things are not going good “for others” that is. I do look toward HIM when things are not that great in my world too, but not like I do when I think that everyone around me needs Jesus more than I do and that God put me here to give them Jesus when they need it. This week, God took me down quite a few notches on my high horse that I so love to ride. Matter of a fact, I’m now on Friday not even walking w/my high horse, God showed me girl, you really gotta stable her. Things kept falling on me this week each day and hour of the day like playing cards stacked getting ready to tap the 1st one so they will all fall in a sequence one after the other, but none of my cards that I have been placing have been for God. Nope, I claim that, but honestly my cards have been for me. When they started falling this week, I realized you are not the boss of God, so when you made the statement in your POD cast that God doesn’t work for us, well YES, I hear you loud and clear Lord. AMEN!!! Why does it take us falling on our face or our cards falling one after the other to realize that GOD IS OUR COMFORTER, OUR PROBLEM SOLVER, OUR ANSWER? I have no clue to that answer, but I do know that I am thankful when HE picks me and my cards up and sets us back up giving me that push to try again b/c HE IS ALSO OUR SAVIOR AND FORGIVER who encourages us to see where we stepped off course, and OUR GENTLEMAN who puts out HIS hand to pull us back on the road. Thank you, Jesus and thank you for loving us when we find it so hard to love each other and even ourselves. Please Lord guide us and revive us each and every time that we fall short especially when we try to convince ourselves that we know better than you…

    • Wendy, you’ve had quite a week. I’m so glad that God put this podcast in your path to draw you near and to remind you of His gracious love and care for you. Thank you for sharing your humbling faith journey from this week.

  12. This was where I was at just last Saturday night before we went to church on Sunday. And God had a WORD for me when I got there.

  13. Barb,

Thank you for these much needed words. Why oh why do we try to fix things ourselves first? When all else fails we go to God. We’ve got it backwards. We should go to God first & see what He has to say about the situation. Over the years I’ve learned to trust God no matter the problems. It may not always turn out the way I want, but He knows best.

Loved this “God I can’t. But you can. So I will let you.” “If it’s gonna get done, then God, You’re gonna have to do it.”

    Blessings 🙂

  14. I love this message of Surrender Barb. The fact that it surrounded your daughter is something I and probably all moms can relate to. We want to fix things..in fact we think thats our job as moms! But Im learning more and more that He who began a good work in my child , spouse, family member , etc will be faithful to complete it. I dont have to.

Thank you for the beautiful devotion!
