  1. God’s grace & mercy are sufficient & sometimes they come wrapped in human form if friends & strangers. May we all be offering compassion to those we encounter for we never know their depth of need for grace & hope. Thank you for sharing your story to encourage us! Blessings!

  2. I haven’t suffered a physical illness, except for my back, but have been going through the longest season of depression and anxiety of my life. It seems like it will never end, but I keep thanking the Lord for His promises and blessings to me, thanking Him for the healing and deliverance to come. God’s blessings to you all as we walk through difficult seasons. The Lord is faithful always and can never fail!

  3. Hi, thank you for this timely post. My granddaughter is at this moment going through some autoimmune testing for intolerable pain. I am asking if it is possible you share with me your diagnosis so we might cut out some unnecessary testing in the case that what you have being similar to what my granddaughter might have and bring us closer to a diagnosis. Faith in God is getting us through. I understand if you are reluctant to do this, but I am asking.

    • Hey there—I’m so sorry for what your granddaughter is walking through! I have several diseases now, but I wrote a lot about my experience with first one—Ankylosing Spondylitis—
in my book This Too Shall Last. Hope it can be a comfort to you both! It can be a very long and hard road to getting a diagnosis for diseases like this.

  4. K.J.,

Thank you for sharing your story here. Often lately I have “pity parties” complaining of some minor aches & pains. Then someone at work will tell me their story of pain. Maybe caused by a patient (work in hospital ICU) or work or just life. It is then that I realize my light affliction is just that light. Sure things hurt but not that bad when compared to others. Our stories will help others going through similar trials. It will help them realize that they are not alone & there is hope. I pray daily for my coworkers, patients & their families. You never know what someone is going through.

    Blessings 🙂
