God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great is your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.
Lamentations 3:22 (MSG)
It was late, close to midnight. I was laying vocals on a project when the producer stepped out to take a call from a big artist in Nashville. I was at a studio close to home, and he had flown in earlier that day. It felt like I was in a dream, surrounded by people living and breathing what my heart bleeds daily. When the producer came back through the door, he said something I never expected to hear: the artist he was to work with was cancelling his week in the studio to go on a world tour.
That could only mean one thing: the studio space was open.
He turned to me and said, “Well, a week in September just opened up . . . do you want to come to Nashville and make a record?”
Of course I said yes — this had been my dream since I was fourteen.
Six weeks later my husband and I packed up our minivan and drove down to Nashville, Tennessee. We were pinching ourselves the entire ride down. We couldn’t believe God had opened the door to such an incredible opportunity — recording a new record with big producers in the greatest music city of all time! Talk about dreams coming true!
We took what we had been saving for a down payment for a house and decided to invest it into what we thought would be a career-breaking opportunity for me. We arrived in Nashville, but to my surprise, within the first twenty-four hours, we were hit with one obstacle and disappointment after the other.
I felt vocally fatigued. We were confused with the direction the record started to go and after meeting all the cool and talented people in the Nashville scene, I was overwhelmed with discouragement and inadequacy. We found ourselves in the studio of our dreams, only to feel crushing confusion.
Why did God lead us here only to have all these things bring us to a place of defeat? Why would God open the door to something so awesome, then make it so discouraging for us?
We left Nashville. No magical memories; no new record in hand.
Six months later, we found ourselves continuing to face roadblock after roadblock. My voice remained fatigued. My husband was carrying the weight of working a full-time job he felt God was calling him out of. And because we had just used all our money on the trip to Nashville, we needed him to keep working.
Life can be hard and come with many questions. In the midst of the challenges I faced, I saw God at work in ways I didn’t know were possible. I learned to trust him because He’s faithful and in control. He never left me. One thing I know to be true is that every day I have a God who knows my situations better than I do and unrelentingly loves me through them. His mercies are new every morning; God’s love is unwavering even in the midst of what feels like disappointment after disappointment. His love doesn’t change according to our circumstances, and when bad things happen, it doesn’t mean God loves us any less. His love is steadfast and constant.
Lamentations says, “I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got.” The truth is, God really is all we’ve got. When life knocks us down, God’s love for us is like a warm extended hand, inviting us to get back up time and time again.
My encouragement to you is: stick with God. Just like the Bible promises, He’ll see you through it.
He always does.

When the bottom dropped out of your plans and you continued to trust God and wait for him to work, you advertised to your world that God is your greatest treasure. In our world with all its broken yardsticks for measuring success, that’s just huge. Thank you for sharing this story, and I’m praying right now for God to continue to bless and use your music ministry to put His glory on display.
God is all we do have. We have to consistently depend on Him for our daily walk in life.
Thank you for sharing. I’m in that place now. I don’t understand why God would open this door and to only be hurt time after time. I won’t give up because God is all that I do have and he is faithful, loving and I will trust him when I don’t understand. Please pray for me.

Those hard questions that may not be answered this side of heaven… but nothing is wasted…and yes… God’s love is the only constant in this life! I live in Nashville… I love this place… but I have seen it can be kind and cruel to many in the music industry! Blessings on your journey!!!
I love this! You are right He is all we’ve got and never leaves us or stops loving us!

I believe there are thoes with money worries and health worries who would run to this book on healing or this dvd or this cd. Or run to this Christian speaker on healing . Yes they might all be good and be Christian. But I would not. I go direct to God his word the promises in his word and prayer. Listen to the Holy Spirit first. Yes God uses Doctors. But unless God told me go to Doctor I would not go to Doctor. As I believe this book or this dvd or cd or Christian healer will tell you this or this. When all you need to do is go God direct pray if it a healing need or money worry stand on his promises in his word the Bible pray over what you need pray for. Tell the Old Devil you belive God word the promises in it plus prayer. For healing like it says in Psalm 103 verse 3 at the end says Who being God heals all Your diseases. Plus in Philippians 4 verse 19 says And my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. We need to keep looking up on to God and his word say this out load and say to the Old Devil do you heard that. Say it again if need to the Old Devil. As the Devil would have you belive your problems no matter what they are God can’t help you with them. You will never get healed if health issue. No matter how hard things get you have to keep looking up on too God trusting his word the Bible and Prayer. Never take your eyes of that. Even if Devil trys to whisper things in your ear like you might as well give up your problems are not going to get any better. Keep looking up to God. Sticking with God even when it hard. Tell the Old Devil I am a Child of God I am not giving up I am not going to listing to you. Tell him this song even sing it to him as well as qute God promises in his word to the Old Devil. The song is For am standing on the promises of God’s word the promises that can not fail and will not fail. One great song. An excellent song too sing to the Old Devil along with the promises in God word to shout out load too him. Tell him I sticking with God and looking on too him no matter what. Love Dawn God Bless Excellent reading again xxx

God promises that we will have trials & tribulations this side of Heaven. That said He is who we need to rush to when they come. He loves & understands our emotions better than we do. God sees & knows our future. This world says to trust in your ability, money, skills, etc. God says to trust in Him “someone we haven’t seen”. That makes no sense to the scientists & others in our world. Yet time after time He has come through for us. He is there first thing in the morning & last thing at night. He is the Abba Father some of us wish we had in our dads. I’ve known people to go through cancer treatments, bad diagnosis & other problems. Like you they trusted God. They showed this world that He is to be believed & trusted. The storms raged around them yet they stood strong knowing Jesus was bringing about healing or relief. They shined His light to a dark & dreary world. His love doesn’t change according to our circumstances, and when bad things happen, it doesn’t mean God loves us any less. He is unchangeable.

Praying for you & your hubby. God will faithfully see you through this trial. He will make your ministry fruitful!
Wow! This! Right on time in my life! I was sure God spoke and things just keep getting worse in an opportunity I thought God led me too. But…I trust God. Will trust God. Still trust God.
He’s the best thing I’ve got!
Ahhh…Yes so true Brooke. God is faithful through it all and we need to stick with Him. I remember the early years of my marriage was so tough and at times, I felt as if I had made the wrong decision. What was I thinking? I clearly had no idea what marriage was truly about and when you are living with another person, two imperfect being living out life together is quite challenging. All I could do was ask God to provide me with patience so that I can love on this other person that I had committed to for the rest of my life. So thankful that today, 25 years later, sticking with God was the best thing we both ever did. We would not be who we are or where we are had we not stuck it out together with God by our side. Stick it out with God!! His plans are always way better than ours. Thank you for sharing..
