I have a gift for throwing parties. It’s sort of a thing I do. Birthday parties. Baby showers. Anniversaries. You name it, I can plan a party for it. The food, the music, the decorations, the activities, the invitations — all of it.
My husband learned this about me just weeks after our wedding. A friend was having a baby, so I transformed our living room into a tea shop. Yep, that meant moving all the living room furniture onto the back porch to make room for the little bistro tables and chairs I’d rented. But it was oh-so-worth-it.
Today at (in)courage we’re throwing a party. We’re celebrating the release of the new CSB (in)courage Devotional Bible!
This kind of party may not have fancy lights strung up in the backyard or colorful confetti sprinkled around centerpieces, but it’s very much a gathering of hearts in one space.
The heart of (in)courage has always been to provide a place where women can gather to share their stories and declare His glory. We gather together daily to bear witness to the beauty of God’s grace in our everyday lives. We share our stories because we believe it’s a ministry — the ministry of being willing to “go first.”
To share what’s really going on.
To admit when we’re not fine.
To whisper what perhaps we’ve all been thinking and feeling.
As friends and sisters in the body of Christ, our prayer is to continue the gift of going first through the stories on the pages of this new CSB (in)courage Devotional Bible.
A devotional Bible can do something unique. I really, really love my study Bibles, and I love my chronological Bibles too. But a devotional Bible can take all that wonderful head knowledge and bring it home to the heart through real life stories of how Christ’s love has transformed lives.
That’s why we’re here. To celebrate the One who has changed us, inside and out. His name is Jesus.
Every story, every devotion is devoted to praising Him for the sacrifice He made on a cross for all of us. The 122 women who have penned over 300 stories come from every age and stage of life. There are stories from grandmothers to college-age women, all with different backgrounds and life experiences — shared as we come together in unity.
We’re celebrating what He has done — and what He continues to do — through His beautiful Word.

Denise,
What better party to throw than one that celebrates His Word!! My sister-in-law has been saying how she wants to get into reading the Bible more faithfully. This Bible looks like the perfect invitation! I’ll be skipping over to order one (or more) 🙂 Congrats’ on a wonderful accomplishment!
Blessings,
Bev xo
In Courage,
Congratulations on the release of the devotional Bible. I love my NIV Women’s Devotional Bibles. They have wonderful insights into the scripture. Time to celebrate!! Praying this encourages women everywhere!!
Blessings 🙂
Not my 1st Bible, but the 1st one that helped me dig in and want to learn more was a Women’s devotional Bible. I pre-ordered this one for my almost 18 yr old daughter. I’m hopeful that the vulnerable stories will ignite that life long desire in her as well.
Denise, I love that you are a masterful party thrower and even more I love how you have used your gifts and talents to serve the Master through this Bible project! It is a day to celebrate, indeed!
Congratulations on the release and my heartfelt thanks to all the contributors! I was so excited after reading through the sample that I ordered four copies for me and my closest girlfriends. I can’t wait for them to arrive in the mail so we can share this devotional journey together!!
We are rich in Bible translations! I had to check out the CSB (on my YouVersion app) before committing to buying another Bible. I think it’s going to be lovely, and I like the inclusive gender address (my brothers and sisters) while the generic he is used for examples (“If anyone thinks he is religious without controlling his tongue…”-James 1:26) and the tone is conversational (like Message) without being a paraphrase.
Thank you, Denise!
I’m so excited for mine to arrive! Thank you to the (in)courage community for making this resource available! Your books and blogs are a great encouragement to me in my walk to know God and reflect Him more.
The beautiful devotions in this Bible are helping me so much to connect to God’s word and catch glimpses of how others have applied it to their life, just reading it these two weeks has already been a blessing for me, and I am so thankful for all the love that went into this Bible.
