Last week we told you our big news — that our beloved (in) real life event is coming back this year, better than ever and with a seat saved for each one of you! October 14 is the big day, the day we’ll gather in Nashville, Tennessee and across the globe to connect and share and learn about lasting friendships. It is the day we’ll hold a live and simulcasted event called (in) real life FRIENDED. (If you can’t tell, we’re more than a little excited about this.)
Honestly, we can’t wait for (in) real life FRIENDED!
We’ve heard from a number of you who have never been to an (in) real life event and you’re wondering: Just what is this all about? If I sign up for this, what am I getting myself into? Well, we thought the best way to explain would be to give you a sneak peek (which is really a look back) at our (in) real life event in 2013.
Four years ago, in homes and churches and coffee shops around the world, we gathered in groups to listen to speakers and, together, to tackle the subject of community and The Challenge to Stay. The idea of staying resonates with us still, especially as we approached this year’s theme of friendship. Because, really, isn’t that what friendship is? Friendship is being — and staying — in community with others.
Sometimes though, that’s easier said than done. It’s not always easy to keep our friendships going. Sometimes, staying is hard.
It’s hard to stay in friendship when you’ve been hurt.
It’s hard to stay in friendship through sickness, loss, and sadness.
It’s hard to stay in friendship through life’s transitions.
It’s hard to stay when life is busy or when you don’t have time.
It’s even hard when you know staying is the right thing to do, but you just don’t want to.
This video session from (in)RL 2013 will walk you through all of these situations while at the same time giving you a great idea of what attending an (in) real life event is all about! And, if you want to go deeper, you can download the printable from this session that also includes study and reflection questions to walk through on your own or with a few friends.
If you’re ready to join in the fun and be a part of this year’s (in) real life FRIENDED event, you can get signed up today! Tickets are available for the live event in Nashville OR you can register to host and/or attend a simulcast event in your area. You can even just sign up to watch in your PJs at home.
However you choose to be a part of (in) real life is fine with us. We just hope that you decide to be a part of it!
We need YOU! We have saved a seat for you at the table and trust us . . . it won’t be the same without you there.

(in)courage ladies and friends,
Count me in….I’m signed up for the simulcast and am planning on hosting in central NC (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Charlotte, Winston Salem, Wake Forest, etc. or wherever you’re willing to drive from 🙂 Hope some of y’all will join me?? I got a sweet call from a gal about tech support so if God and I, together can conquer that, we’ll be in business lol. Yes, my first (in)RL I was nervous and a bit scared, but my fears were soon alleviated by the wonderful and welcoming women who showed up. God had a plan for our small group to come together. When your common love is Jesus (or even if you’re not so sure about this Jesus fellow), meeting up with kindred spirits who need others, allowed us to leave our masks at the doorstep and enter into community.
Blessings,
Bev xx

(In) Courage,
I’ve been a part of most, if not all, the In Real Life conferences. God has blessed me these past few years with some great friendships. The kind that last through the hard stuff. We’ve all had losses, medical issues, etc. We pray each other through our trials. My second group of women try to meet once a month. We all used to work together. We are good friends. This group has seen it’s share of trials also. We still connect & pray for each other. I think putting God in the center of both groups helps us stay together. Nothing can pull us apart.
Blessings 🙂
