  1. Katie, I love seeing you here! And those simple, kind words can change our entire perspective. God is so good to give us what we need when we need it most. Thanks for that reminder.

  2. Katie,
Thank you for this great reminder! He is always there when we forget that we need Him- and I try to never forget it!

  3. Wow, this is exactly what I needed to read this morning! Lately, I’ve been in this mist that everything I’m doing is not good enough, like here I am doing so much but it seems like all that I do is not anything at all. This reminder of encouragement that we are good enough and amazing and have an amazing God makes it all worth while.

    • Margarita- Praying for wisdom on what needs to be done and what needs to be let go of (preaching to myself here). May you be confident in His love and grace. Know that Your value comes through Christ not in how much you do.

  4. I so needed this today! On vacation with the girls, not really what was planned due to broken arm, but making the best of it. And now realize I am enough! Haven’t really felt like it much on this trip. Thank you so much!

    • “The don’t need perfect they just want you.” That’s what my friend said to me when we went on vacation last fall. Have a great time. Sorry about your arm Deb!

    • Hi Lisa- It was a great time together. I had big plans to have deep conversations (we had a few) but the quantity time was actually what we needed.

  5. Katie, you are this type of encourager to me! You invest in so many people using the gift of encouragement. Thank you for this! Blessings my friend!

  6. HI Katie! Thank you for this-I am deeply grateful to Christ for this encouragement. I am hard on myself too and finding the courage to keep going is tough some days 😛 Thank you for reminding me that there is no reason to worry and with Him, we are all enough 🙂

  7. Just beautiful Katie. Love seeing your words shared here. Love your encouragement. I especially love this story of how words from a stranger ministered to your heart. I pray more and more of us would notice those around us and the impact of a few kind words. I need reminders to do this often.

  8. Katie, beautiful writing!! Your article came at the right time. Needed it this morning and really enjoyed it!

  9. Yay! I love that you are here in this space! So great! And Amen… we are all in need of a little encouragement… a little compliment or kind word spoken because so often our minds are consumed with negative self talk and unrealistic expectations! Great post, my friend!

    • HI Karrilee- Thank you friend. I listen to that negative self-talk too often, the crazy cycle needs to stop. I want my words to speak life. You are really good at this encouragement thing, by the way. Thank you for your example.

  10. So great to see you here, Katie. Thanks for your words of encouragement. What a great reminder too to offer our words to others like that man did to you. 🙂 Beautiful story.

    • Hi Betsy- Thank you, his words were a gift. Yours words are too. Let’s keep speaking life into the weary and receiving timely words as treasures.

  11. thank you SO much for this word of encouragement. I have read it a few days late but it applies to today….a bad morning, a hurtful email, and I question if I am in the place that God wants me….your words lift me, reassure me. Bless you.

  12. Katie,

This paragraph is so me.. “I am hard on myself. I constantly critique, over-analyze, and expect more of myself than is humanly possible. I work hard to stay on top of things — by doing too many things — so that I impress.” For over a year now I struggled to stay on top of life and my busy schedule. Aging dad moved into assisted living and had multiple medical issues including 4 ER visits, 6 falls, psych, etc. I was the one who got the calls, rushed to hospital, etc. It affected my work such that I had to resign. Just couldn’t juggle it all–toppled over!!
I praise God for my husband who keeps encouraging me on my journey. Also for people like you with such great words of wisdom!
    Blessings 🙂

    • Beth- Caring for an aging father is noble yet challenging. I watched my mom do this with devotion for years. May God give you pockets or rest and rejuvenation through this time. So glad that your hubby is supportive and encouraging you.

  13. “May Jesus’ vast love be your sure footing in a unstable world.” Such great encouragement! Thank you for sharing. 🙂

    • Marty! I just saw a blip of your story via your profile (above) and I am freaking out (in a good way) because I have a brother with Down Syndrome. I would love to hear more about your son. I wrote a 31 Day Series about my bro on my blog and would love to share it with you. I tend to “pounce” when I see families like ours. Blessings! 🙂
