I am seeing myself in a whole new light. I have had to face the truth today. It was a harsh reality, but it was also life changing truth.
I have so much to work on. I am human and emotions are fickle. One minute I was fine, and the next minute I broke. The tears were warm as they trickled down my face when I cried out for God to change me. “Keep smoothing those broken pieces of my heart,” I told God.
But, this has been good for me. God can put the pieces back together if I’m willing. I’m like a clay pot with cracks and crevices with a worn finish. I’ve weathered many storms, and it shows. My outward appearance isn’t one of glitz and glamour, but I’m me.
When I let the Potter shape me on His wheel, I know the finished product will be beautiful because He has the perfect plan for me.
So many times, we think we don’t need any help. ”No repairs needed!” we cheerfully reply. We are only fooling ourselves. A prideful attitude can do much damage.
When you’re broken, you just want someone to make it better. You search desperately for something to fill that void in your life. God made each of us righteous. God has intricately formed me for a specific purpose, but I have to be willing to be molded into His image. I pray that I am always pliable.
What areas in your life need mending?

“When you’re broken, you just want someone to take it better.” YES. Thanks for this reminder that there is one who knows our brokenness, and know how to heal it in just the way we need. So glad your words are with us today!

I always desire to be emptied more of self. I don’t want there to be anything left that interferes with His Reflection. But I am full of me. Just ask my kids, or my husband. Thankfully, He is patient and I am learning.

Thank you for sharing this. I am in this place today, dealing with some issues having to do with my son’s dad and my son. It’s been a difficult day and I needed the reminder that God can smooth those places in my heart, if I let Him.

Carrie Cooper,
For some reason, your comment didn’t show up underneath the post. It did come to my email, though.
Nice to ‘meet’ you, Carrie! In addition to having CP, I was diagnosed with spondylosis after a stress fracture eventually caused a vertebrae to break off. The worse part was it didn’t show up on any tests, so I was in a lot of pain for that year until I had a spinal fusion.
